Unlike most street fashion favorites though Peony Lim isn't an editor; she started getting snapped while studying for a degree in Art History at Courtauld in London and quickly graduated to her current job as blogger and brand consultant. For me her job is less interesting than her clothes since it is the fashion I'm admiring not what she does while wearing it! What I like about Lim's style is her eclectic mix, she's ladylike one day, casual the next, and able to make a huge range of silhouettes work. I also enjoy her use of accessories--creative scarves are her signature, but I love her oversized spike headband, fun glasses, and broad range of fascinators. </div>

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/_MG_6981-3_zpsd35b514f.jpg" /><br />Felt like editing this a little differently with this outfit post, or rather was increasingly dissatisfied with the photographs so I kept editing. When I like my photographs there is very little change from the in-camera shot to the one I put on the blog, but the more ambivalent I feel about my images the more editing they tend to get. Anyway, it works in an outfit that isn't much about color anyway. The outfit was built around my new basic tee from <a href="http://www.pickwickweller.com/" target="_blank">Pickwick & Weller.</a> I talked about them a couple of weeks ago and now I'm trying out one of their boutique-quality-without-the-price-tag tees for myself. It is a lovely, thick tee; mine's in black but if the white is anything like this one it won't have that annoying almost-sheer-to-actually-sheer quality that most of women's tees seem to have nowadays. I'm always a bit annoyed when I buy a shirt or dress that's so sheer I have to wear another shirt or dress (i.e. camisole or slip) underneath. Anyway, it doesn't seem to be a problem with this line and the new tee inspired me to wear something more casual…sort of. Casual is easier in summer--in summer it would just be this tee, skirt, and sandals but as you add layers in winter you start to look more pulled-together even though you just wanted something simple and faux-sporty.<br />Remember if you buy a <a href="http://www.pickwickweller.com/l/stylist/" target="_blank">Pickwick & Weller</a> tee then share your picture on Instgram with the hashtag #BeAStylist they'll refund you $15, so you effectively get your tee at cost. Definitely check them out if you're looking for more basics and shirts that won't fall apart after a few months.<br />P.S. I suppose this is where I'm always very confused style-wise; I admire the most frothy gowns and head-to-toe vintage inspired looks, but I'm also drawn to practical clothes fit for the great outdoors. The above lookbook for <a href="http://www.bridgeandburn.com/" target="_blank">Bridge & Burns Fall 2014</a> collection was shot at Detroit Lake (in my dream state of Oregon). Vagabond Shoes

I scheduled a few posts in advance to save some of my stress while traveling only to find last night in a brief respite after nine hours of driving I intended to use towards answering e-mails, that today's post had mysteriously disappeared. Quite strange and it meant no rest for the weary but a re-upload, organize of pictures, and re-finding of appropriate links for clothes--all on an incredibly slow internet connection that made everything take twice as long as it normally would. Traveling is so fun, no? Anyways, sorry there isn't much to report here other than a list of grievances but it's frustrating to work really hard other evenings to get things done in advance only to have to re-do everything when you're short on time and patience. Her latest collection featured personal DIY touches--she dyed Mongolian fur (extracted from pillows) with Manic Panic, added Sharpie doodles on leather, and even collaborated with a photographer from Instagram on a fun print of a photographer. The whole collection was quirky and wearable featuring a fun mix of fabrics and unique touches that set her looks apart and ultimately what makes them the most desirable.
