I definitely enjoyed a number of Dolce & Gabbana's Fall collection and was particularly entertained by their jewel-encrusted vision of gauntlets and armor. They worked as festive touches that highlighted the collection inspired by Sicily. Past the theatrics you were served up a series of beautiful dresses both romantic and more practical as well as covetable shoes--my favorites being the mixed prints flats and jewel-colored draped and corseted dresses. Miu Miu Spring 2014

A beautiful blend of vintage influences in a modern pastel palette so suitable for spring. I would adore a similar candy-colored makeover for my wardrobe next year.</div>

Stella McCartney Spring 2014

Reminiscent of nightgowns with an edge they definitely fit the bill of McCartney's program notes "an accent on understated seduction." These dresses represent the more romantic end of McCartney's usually understated spectrum. I could definitely see them as red carpet favorites next spring with the young Hollywood set.</div>

I don't have much to say about the collection other than "so much pretty." Of course, there's a wonderful amount of detail and some really interesting color combinations setting them apart from basic party dresses. </div>

However, the message behind the clothes makes Prada one of most noteworthy collections to pay attention to this season. Miuccia Prada made a feminist statement with her clothes. I can't think of similar embrace of feminism in mainstream culture or the arts scene since the Riot Grrrls of the 90s and Miuccia touched on that creating her own interpretation of girl gangs in the models. The designer stated she wanted to "inspire women to struggle" and it was evident in power-ready clothes half featuring faces that looked like bejeweled political posters. And while it might not be my aesthetic cup of tea, it's a collection no one should be ignoring.</div>
