A visual game between perspective and colored volumes that draws the eye. It's probably <i>too much</i> to attempt something similar inside your home…but I'm still tempted to file it away for future home projects.</div>

Indoor Clouds

Through manipulation of temperature and humidity, Smilde calls these man-made clouds into existence and quickly photographs the fruits of his labor. Wouldn't you like a friendly little cloud imposing on your next social gathering or transforming your otherwise ordinary office space into something surreal?</div>

Although primarily an illustrator, Green also dabbles in stop-motion and three dimensional art like her little "October Party" scene. It's such tiny, intricate work and the paper basket and sculpey apples look remarkably life-like. Perhaps my favorite piece though is her large-scale illustration aptly titled "Moonlight Mountain."</div></div>

Smith</a> and sadly it's not even open to the public for visits at the moment. During the day the strips of mirror along the wall reflect the surrounding desert and almost make the home appear to disappear into its environment; the remaining panels of wood seem to float against a rugged landscape that continues into the horizon. At dusk and night the house becomes a different vision; LED panels illuminate the building giving it an even more surreal appearance. Smith's own words on the project, "Lucid Stead is about tapping into the quiet and the pace of change of the desert. When you slow down and align yourself with the desert, the project begins to unfold before you. It reveals that it is about light and shadow, reflected light, projected light, and change." <a href="http://trendland.com/phillip-smiths-lucid-stead/" target="_blank">via</a></div>

Sound a bit surreal? The pictures of those vessels almost look like they belong in some post-apocolytpic world. The idea of the ships came to Swoon in a dream and although she wasn't invited, her recycled vessels made their maiden voyage into the Venice Biennale. Of course, the message of the boats isn't just punk-rock and <i>doesn't this look cool</i>, but one of resourcefulness and making the best of a bad situation. As the artist states, "The culture of eating and building out of Dumpsters is not an endpoint, not what any of us wants to be doing. It’s about living off a bad culture that we wish didn’t exist and making the resources that contribute to that situation no longer available to you." <a href="http://nymag.com/arts/art/features/57181/" target="_blank">via</a></div></div>
