Despite the competitive housing market in Paris, one apartment in that fair city was left untouched for about 70 years. The owner fled during World War II in an effort to escape a Nazi raid, but the apartment was diligently paid for month after mother for numerous decades despite the fact that she never returned. The heirs recently decided to make an inventory of the space and were surprised to find it's perfectly preserved interior containing numerous treasures. One such gem included a painting by renowned 19th century Italian painter Giovanni Boldini, complete with a stack of love letters supposedly exchanged between the painting's subject and the artist. Such a beautiful and fascinating space and story. via
