I stumbled across Cheri Herouard's work with the first illustration in this post--I was quite charmed by the image of Jack Frost/Mr. Ice as a dancing instructor tripping up a chic walker in inappropriate footwear. From that one illustration I started looking around the Internet for more pieces of the French illustrator who is best remember for his work for La Vie Parisienne; his first illustration appeared in the magazine in 1907. His work stood out then and now for his fairytale characters and it's just that blend of bobbed flappers and mermaids that I can't get enough of.
