Style Crush: Wide Brim Fedoras

I have a similar wide brim black hat, but with a floppy shape and the more structured look of a fedora is appealing to me more. For one thing floppy, soft-shaped hats seem more summery and a more stiff hat seems autumnal...although I don't know why! I'm not completely sold on scarves the size of blankets, but after last winter they're growing on me. It's only when I start to collect a few favorites that I notice other themes, such as a muted color palette. Descriptions that come to mind upon viewing: dark, romantic, womanly--it's so much more mature and minimalist than my typical style but the woman in these clothes is the woman I'd like to be. I still question whether the silhouette works for my body type, but man do I need to pull out my pencil skirts again and hunt down those leather opera gloves I've been dreaming of for two many winters now...</div></div>

Roses's speed typing skills soon win over her reluctant boss Louis and sets him on a scheme to train her into the fastest typist in the world which leads us to a series of typing competitions all on the road to infamy. Reminiscent of Rock Hudson-Doris Day romantic comedies down to the music, the romance in this film is similarly as questionable as that infamous pairing, but the charm and pure vintage eye candy carries the film through. Rose is a perfect ingenue, equal parts self-doubting and determined and Louise acts the perfect cynical counterbalance, who is wooed by Rose despite himself. In the end it was the art direction and costume design that kept me hooked through this film.</div>

Mood boards definitely hold inspiration beyond the original creators and I really admire the breadth and volume of these which blended Edwardian dress, David Bowie, classical sculpture, and kitty wallpaper. Through the seemingly incongruous collection of images a pattern and distinctive style emerges.  </div>
