I can never get enough of the melancholy girls painted by Emily Winfield of The Black Apple. Whether it be her flower series that re-imagines different blooms as young women or more theatrical characters from an imaginary carnival, her big-eyed beauties never disappoint. There's just something very soothing about her color palettes and softly textured backgrounds.
