It's been a particularly stormy week and while I've been outside to run errands and help friends with random things, I miss a leisurely outdoors experience--long walks, watching the sunset, etc. Still there's been plenty to do, so I've been keeping busy and snapped these shots between dino-making and package shipping.<br /><div></div><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1u/bedroom-4_zps2c61678e.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1u/bedroom-9_zps6af270a5.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1u/bed_zps92e0057e.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1u/bedroom-10_zpsf50b7213.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1u/bedroom-8_zps8584636b.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1u/bedroom-12_zpse8853a2d.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1u/bedroom-13_zpsd722b924.jpg" /><br /><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><div style="text-align: right;">Outfit details:</div><div style="text-align: right;"><a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/gardensofwhimsy" target="_blank">Gardens of Whimsy crown</a></div><div style="text-align: right;">old top (<a href="http://rstyle.me/n/jn74ahu7e" target="_blank">similar</a>)</div><div style="text-align: right;"><a href="http://helloholiday.com/" target="_blank">Hello Holiday necklace</a> (old)</div><div style="text-align: right;"><a href="http://www.sheinside.com/Navy-White-Vertical-Stripe-Mid-Waist-Shorts-p-167712-cat-1740.html?url_from=theclothes" target="_blank">shorts ℅ Sheinside</a></div><div style="text-align: right;">old flats (<a href="http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?u=761928&b=417942&m=43745&afftrack=&urllink=www%2Emodcloth%2Ecom%2Fshop%2Fshoes%2Dflats%2Fdorsay%2Dmy%2Dname%2Dflat%3Fnew%5Fpdp%5Flayout%3Dtrue" target="_blank">similar</a>)<br /><br /></div></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/15904/the-clothes-horse" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Bloglovin</a><span style="text-align: center;"> | </span><a href="http://twitter.com/aclotheshorse" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Twitter</a><span style="text-align: center;"> | </span><a href="http://www.facebook.com/aclotheshorse?v=wall" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Facebook</a><span style="text-align: center;"> | </span><a href="http://theclotheshorse.tumblr.com/" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Tumblr</a><span style="text-align: center;"> | </span><a href="http://instagram.com/aclotheshorse" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Instagram</a> | <a href="http://theclotheshorse.etsy.com/" target="_blank">Shop</a></div></div>

Snow Day Musings

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/_MG_8461_zps59d15af7.jpg" width="530" /><br />I know talking about the weather is the predominant topic on my blog at the moment, but it's hard to think about something else when your car is buried under a foot of snow and ice and the only time you get out of the city is when your friends with free vehicles are kind enough to give you a ride. At the moment I'm even longing to just hop on a train and go somewhere, but icy tracks means those aren't running most days either and my world has narrowed in the tiny sphere of streets I can walk to and back from without getting frostbite. It's ok staying in, there are always things to be done around the house and a steady Netflix queue to keep you entertained but even a hermit like myself is bound to get stir-crazy at some point. Perhaps it's not just the fact of being in the house, but the knowledge that I can't readily go somewhere that is affecting me. It's one thing to stay home, another to realize you have no choice. But I'm getting by. I snapped these pictures around the room to occupy myself for a little while between painting dinosaurs, drawing monsters, and answering the never-ending stream of e-mails that are a pre-requisite for a life partially spent online…At least I'm still getting dressed!<br />Style-wise lately I feel so draw to blush hues I would have turned my nose up to only a season ago--like <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/170077801/small-coral-earrings-textured-nude-peach?ref=shop_home_active_5" target="_blank">these coral earrings</a> I received as a gift from <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/MarisaMessickJewelry?ref=em" target="_blank">Marisa Messick</a>. There's something soft and romantic to them from the color to the delicate texture…of course soft and romantic used to be terms I would have found cloying in the past. Romanticism as in the art movement and Pre-Rapahelite muse-esque have constantly been inspirations, but pastels and lovey-dovey looks featuring hearts or an excess of blush weren't really my thing. Yet, I've been feeling a shift lately and as the over-analytical person I am I spend too much time pondering the whys. Style is a shifting target since it's a reflection of ourselves, so when the color palette I want to wear changes I feel there's also an emotional and mental shift going on. Am I drawn to more blush tones because I'm sort of in love (it's really weird typing about being in love…so weird)?<br />P.S. Check out <a href="http://instagram.com/aclotheshorse" target="_blank">my Instagram</a> if you want to see cars buried in snow and the city streets white and lit-up in the snow at night.<br /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/_MG_8753_zpsaa1a2981.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/_MG_8685_zpsc682e3db.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/_MG_8766_zps14a346ac.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/_MG_8670_zps0abca09f.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/_MG_8594_zpsd1d94ef7.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/_MG_8693_zpsd1654e0f.jpg" /><br /><div style="text-align: right;">Outfit details:</div><div style="text-align: right;"><a href="http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?u=761928&b=417942&m=43745&afftrack=&urllink=www%2Emodcloth%2Ecom%2Fshop%2Fcardigans%2Fcharter%2Dschool%2Dcardigan%2Din%2Dcamel" target="_blank">cardigan ℅ Modcloth</a></div><div style="text-align: right;"><a href="http://www.asianicandy.com/products/3u76d720" target="_blank">Asian iCandy dress</a></div><div style="text-align: right;"><a href="http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?u=761928&b=417942&m=43745&afftrack=&urllink=www%2Emodcloth%2Ecom%2Fshop%2Ftights%2Flayer%2Dit%2Don%2Dtights%2Din%2Divory" target="_blank">tights ℅ Modcloth</a></div><div style="text-align: right;"><a href="http://rstyle.me/n/e3c3nhu7e" target="_blank">UO jewel heeled shoes</a></div><div style="text-align: right;"><a href="http://www.woodwatches.com/series/ely#10" target="_blank">Jord Ely watch</a></div><div style="text-align: right;"><a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/MarisaMessickJewelry?ref=em" target="_blank">Marisa Messick earrings</a><br /><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/15904/the-clothes-horse" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Bloglovin</a><span style="text-align: center;"> | </span><a href="http://twitter.com/aclotheshorse" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Twitter</a><span style="text-align: center;"> | </span><a href="http://www.facebook.com/aclotheshorse?v=wall" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Facebook</a><span style="text-align: center;"> | </span><a href="http://theclotheshorse.tumblr.com/" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Tumblr</a><span style="text-align: center;"> | </span><a href="http://instagram.com/aclotheshorse" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Instagram</a></div></div>

It is the sort of weather for staying in and reading; I'm started my re-read of <i>The Lord of the Rings </i>and enjoying <a href="http://monsterszine.bigcartel.com/product/monsters-zine-issue-1" target="_blank">my first zine</a>--it's such a thrill to have something I wanted for so long in my hands. Anyway, here's another little room tour, it's not as complete as <a href="http://theclothes.blogspot.com/2013/12/room-tour.html" target="_blank">my first one</a>, but it does afford me an excuse to stay inside just a little bit longer. It is winters like these that make me glad I don't stay in one place for too long--hopefully my next home will have a little less snow outside of it...<br /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/_MG_9372-2_zps8aee2d63.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/_MG_9381-2_zpsf6837ca7.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/_MG_9290-2_zpse1324380.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/_MG_9327-2_zps80494598.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/_MG_9384-2_zps5a1c6bda.jpg" />*bowling pin I spray-painted as a trophy with a new <a href="http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?u=761928&b=393018&m=41271&afftrack=&urllink=www%2Echoies%2Ecom%2Fproduct%2Fhappy%2Dletter%2Dnecklace" target="_blank">oversized necklace from Choies</a><br /><div></div><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/_MG_5671-2_zps8d1c8a5d.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/_MG_5640-2_zpsc98075c9.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/_MG_5629-2_zps5a8834fc.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/_MG_5627-2_zps29220130.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/_MG_5670-2_zpsba216f7b.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/_MG_9387-2_zpsff38a857.jpg" />*just received this <a href="http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?u=761928&b=417942&m=43745&afftrack=&urllink=www%2Emodcloth%2Ecom%2Fshop%2Fwall%2Ddecor%2Finterest%2Dcoop%2Dkeepsake%2Dboard" target="_blank">birdcage keepsake board ℅ Modcloth</a>, perfect for postcards from friends<br /><div></div><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/_MG_5636-2_zps4302743a.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/_MG_5613-4_zpsfd6ba15a.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/_MG_5625-2_zps7e7a7f7a.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/_MG_5674_zpsbce95f23.jpg" />*pointe shoes from when I danced<br /><div></div><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/_MG_5646-2_zps929d2b4d.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/_MG_5655-2_zpsea0154e1.jpg" />*tutorial on <a href="http://theclothes.blogspot.com/2013/05/diy-crepe-paper-flowers.html" target="_blank">crepe paper flowers here</a><br /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/_MG_9200-2_zps9e149318.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/_MG_9275-3_zps63f81892.jpg" /><br /><div style="text-align: right;">Outfit details:</div><div style="text-align: right;"><a href="http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?u=761928&b=393018&m=41271&afftrack=&urllink=www%2Echoies%2Ecom%2Fproduct%2Fchiffon%2Dskater%2Ddress%2Dwith%2Dleaf%2Dcollar" target="_blank">Choies dress</a><br /><a href="http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?u=761928&b=417942&m=43745&afftrack=&urllink=www%2Emodcloth%2Ecom%2Fshop%2Ftights%2Flayer%2Dit%2Don%2Dtights%2Din%2Divory" target="_blank">tights ℅ Modcloth</a><br />bobby pins, gift from my sister<br /><a href="http://monsterszine.bigcartel.com/product/monsters-zine-issue-1" target="_blank">Monsters Zine Issue One</a></div><div style="text-align: right;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/15904/the-clothes-horse" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Bloglovin</a><span style="text-align: center;"> | </span><a href="http://twitter.com/aclotheshorse" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Twitter</a><span style="text-align: center;"> | </span><a href="http://www.facebook.com/aclotheshorse?v=wall" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Facebook</a><span style="text-align: center;"> | </span><a href="http://theclotheshorse.tumblr.com/" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Tumblr</a><span style="text-align: center;"> | </span><a href="http://instagram.com/aclotheshorse" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Instagram</a></div></div>

I live in an old house so the carpet's a bit blah, the walls need a fresh coat of paint, and pretty much all of my furniture came from a thrift shop, but I don't mean to criticize my space because I still really like my room. Compared to my college dorm rooms it's large, I have windows facing the street in front of our house, and I can't see old carpet stains under the magical aura of my string lights! The color scheme is quite accidental, as pink is one of my least favorite colors but once I started hanging up vintage dresses I that don't wear often I quickly realized there was a pink and red theme to them and I decided to let it be. These are mostly detail shots around the room because parts of it is a mess, but I hope you enjoy the peek into my space.<br /><br /><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><div style="text-align: right;">Outfit details:<br /><a href="http://rstyle.me/n/dv2gchu7e" target="_blank">UO headband</a><br /><a href="http://rstyle.me/~1b7a8" target="_blank">Crew Cuts sweater</a><br /><a href="http://rstyle.me/n/dv2gthu7e" target="_blank">UO shorts</a><br /><a href="http://9thelm.com/" target="_blank">tights via 9th&elm</a><br /><br /></div></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/15904/the-clothes-horse" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Bloglovin</a><span style="text-align: center;"> | </span><a href="http://twitter.com/aclotheshorse" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Twitter</a><span style="text-align: center;"> | </span><a href="http://www.facebook.com/aclotheshorse?v=wall" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Facebook</a><span style="text-align: center;"> | </span><a href="http://theclotheshorse.tumblr.com/" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Tumblr</a><span style="text-align: center;"> | </span><a href="http://instagram.com/aclotheshorse" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Instagram</a></div></div>
