Village Greens

After such a long, cold winter I felt like I was melting under the direct sunlight and heat, thankfully the best mini golf course in the area (<a href="http://www.villagegreens.com/" target="_blank">Village Greens</a>) is pretty shaded. And isn't that how it always is? You long for warmth and sunshine all winter then when it arrives it knocks you off your feet as much as the last snowstorm. What is that quote "you say you love the rain, but then you hide under an umbrella?" I always go on and on about loving summer and then wallow in the humidity and beg for slushies and friend's pools. Despite being hot it was a beautiful day and a good excuse to wear my new <a href="http://toujours-toi-family-affairs.com/index.php?id=417" target="_blank">patchwork dress</a> from Family Affairs. I'll adjust to the warmer temperatures soon enough and it felt so good to be outside having fun and worrying about sunscreen.<br /><div></div><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/1v040/may-37_zps3719a880.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/1v040/may-27_zpsd652bffb.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/1v040/may-38_zps5337136b.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/1v040/may-36_zpsef557421.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/1v040/may-28_zps1fb45a15.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/1v040/may-32_zps231def1b.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/1v040/may-26_zps1740da31.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/1v040/may-34_zps42a33900.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/1v040/may-30_zps32fe56f6.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1v/1v040/may-31_zps173d659d.jpg" /><br /><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><div style="text-align: right;">Outfit details:</div><div style="text-align: right;"><a href="http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?u=761928&b=417942&m=43745&afftrack=&urllink=www%2Emodcloth%2Ecom%2Fshop%2Fsunglasses%2Fclear%2Das%2Dday%2Dsunglasses" target="_blank">Modcloth sunglasses</a></div><div style="text-align: right;"><a href="http://rstyle.me/~21jww" target="_blank">Crew Cuts jacket</a></div><div style="text-align: right;"><a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/120985666/cupids-arrow-brooch-red-embroidered?ref=listing-2" target="_blank">Les Mirettes brooch</a></div><div style="text-align: right;"><a href="http://toujours-toi-family-affairs.com/index.php?id=417" target="_blank">Family Affairs dress</a></div><div style="text-align: right;"><a href="http://www.uncommongoods.com/product/small-faceted-pendant" target="_blank">Uncommon Goods necklace</a></div><div style="text-align: right;"><a href="http://rstyle.me/~21jIQ" target="_blank">Sam Edelman sandals</a></div><div style="text-align: right;">*pictures by Thomas</div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/15904/the-clothes-horse" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Bloglovin</a><span style="text-align: center;"> | </span><a href="http://twitter.com/aclotheshorse" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Twitter</a><span style="text-align: center;"> | </span><a href="http://www.facebook.com/aclotheshorse?v=wall" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Facebook</a><span style="text-align: center;"> | </span><a href="http://theclotheshorse.tumblr.com/" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Tumblr</a><span style="text-align: center;"> | </span><a href="http://instagram.com/aclotheshorse" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Instagram</a></div></div>

Style Crush: Fan Bingbing

I feel like the fact that she is an actress comes through in the theatrical outfits she wears--when she attends Paris fashion week wearing a vintage-look Lanvin dress her hair is exaggeratingly-retro like an extra in Hairspray with over-the-top cat eye, but when she opts for a yellow fitted Versace she chooses appropriately bold Karen Walker sunglasses, wears her hair in loose curls and chooses a nude lip. It's like her outfits are almost costumes and she assumes a new character depending on the designer and design of a gown--a practice I'm wholeheartedly behind. She's not quite as recognized by the Western street fashion photographers yet as she ought to be, but I'm hoping as she attends more fashion shows and events we'll be able to spy her amazing style around the web more and more.</div>

Unfortunately for my bank account I'm now craving their new styles for Fall 2014 as well (and not merely because the design house found inspiration in Ireland). The label's signature bold prints are still present, but there's a fresh mix of fabrics and silhouettes this season that departs from their surf-wear roots. I'm definitely still a fan and now coveting even more dresses from the label.
