<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1x/_MG_1226_zps5d2cbbae.jpg" /><br />As much fun as it is shopping for others this holiday season when Lucky and Fossil asked me to choose a couple of pieces, I quite enjoyed shopping for myself. The holiday collection was inspired by the Northern Lights and while it is obvious in some pieces like a constellation stitched on a wallet, it is more subtle in others--like my <a href="http://www.fossil.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=12052&langId=-1&catalogId=25005&categoryId=331153&cm_vc=331153&pn=&productId=22515616&imagePath=JA6226998&cm_mmc=HolidayValueAdd-_-Lucky-_-ClothesHorseBlog-_-GlitzFoxJA6226" target="_blank">glitz fox necklace</a> which is cute and one of my favorite animals but perhaps also a nod to Vulpecula or the "little fox" constellation in the northern sky. It's a very faint constellation so I've never been able to discern it on dim nights or find it among the myriad of stars on clear nights, but it is one of my favorite illustrations of a constellation--the fox has an unlucky goose in its mouth. Anyway, even though it is shopping from a selection of pieces especially chosen for this season, I try to choose items that will be wearable at multiple occasions and at different times of the year. I thought <a href="http://www.fossil.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=12052&catalogId=25005&productId=22455814&langId=-1&Ntt=zb5413841&beginIndex=0&pageSize=60&pn=sr&cm_vc=2020&categoryId=331141&imagePath=ZB5413001&cm_mmc=HolidayValueAdd&-_-Lucky&-_-StyleCollective&-_-MemoirNovelZB5413" target="_blank">this purse</a> fit that description quite nicely--the warm color works with autumnal tones now but could easily be styled with pastels and brighter colors in spring and summer. And as much as I plan to use it again and again, I wouldn't mind the same purse in multiple colors because of the classic shape and perfect size (I am often reminded of the tale of <i>Goldilocks and The Three Bears</i> when women talk about their purses, "and this bag is just right"). Language Is Fossil Poetry

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1x/_MG_6281_zps625140ff.jpg" /><br />Most of the time while I might throw on a pretty sundress or even more dramatic one piece better suited for a party than errands, my purse is incredibly practical--a cross body or enormous tote big enough to haul a dozen ridiculous things and my of course my camera. It gets a bit unwieldy and I'm pretty sure the weight is beginning to make me lean to one side, but I have a hard time minimizing. Minimal in dress sense, but not in what I typically carry around I suppose. But when Fossil approached me to pick out a couple of my favorite items from their fall collection, I decided to go little outside of my norm. I chose <a href="http://www.fossil.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=12052&langId=-1&catalogId=25005&categoryId=403587&productId=22456347&imagePath=ZB5459336&cm_mmc=Lucky-_-StyleCollective-_-ClothesHorse-_-ZB5459336" target="_blank">this pocketbook</a>, decided to lighten up a bit, and it was lovely. I only took the cards I knew I needed from my wallet, threw in my phone, and a chapstick and felt like I was walking on air for most of the day. It was just one of those times when your clothes made you feel both chic and comfortable. I felt like a modern "lady who lunches" and even my <a href="http://www.fossil.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=12052&catalogId=25005&productId=22436395&langId=-1&categoryId=406584&imagePath=AM4483&cm_mmc=Lucky-_-StyleCollective-_-ClothesHorse-_-AM4483" target="_blank">new watch</a> added to the classic-meets-modern vibe. With just the dress, purse, and flats I'd be rather ladylike but you add an oversized watch and blue hair to the mix and the whole thing is just more interesting. I always enjoy the juxtaposition of elements.
