Happy Halloween

In case you were wondering whatever happened to the pumpkins Thomas and I picked at that patch in Vermont--this is it! We didn't have a place to carve them properly in Vermont so they ended up rolling around the backseat of my car for about a week and driving me crazy every time I took a turn or had to brake. But eventually we were back at my home and able to carve them up. I obviously worn something different while carving since I have no desire to get pumpkin guts on my new shoes!<br /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/carve-15_zps8a545ec1.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/carve-1-3_zps429eba38.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/carve-20_zps17043ab9.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/carve-14_zpsc3ccf555.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/carve-5_zpsa3c30d13.jpg" /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">"Round about the cauldron go; </div><div style="text-align: center;"> In the poison’d entrails throw. </div><div style="text-align: center;"> Toad, that under cold stone </div><div style="text-align: center;"> Days and nights hast thirty one </div><div style="text-align: center;"> Swelter’d venom sleeping got, </div><div style="text-align: center;"> Boil thou first i’ the charmed pot. </div><div style="text-align: center;"> Double, double toil and trouble; </div><div style="text-align: center;"> Fire burn and cauldron bubble."</div><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/carve-1-4_zps15ae0d2d.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/carve-1-2_zps73cf864c.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/carve-19_zpsf432d1c0.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/carve-21_zps9fa04ce6.jpg" /><br /><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><div style="text-align: right;">Outfit details:</div><div style="text-align: right;"><a href="http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?u=761928&b=298982&m=32249&afftrack=&urllink=www%2Eoasap%2Ecom%2Fdresses%2F39839%2Dgraceful%2Dbeaded%2Dbodycon%2Ddress%2Ehtml" target="_blank">Oasap dress</a></div><div style="text-align: right;"><a href="http://www.trendylegs.com/shop/city-star-print-tattoo-tights-black-gold-zohara-f189-bgo/" target="_blank">Trendylegs tights</a></div><div style="text-align: right;"><a href="http://lolyinthesky.com/collections/fall-winter-2014/products/martina" target="_blank">Loly in the Sky flats</a> c/o</div><div style="text-align: right;">*pictures by Thomas</div></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/15904/the-clothes-horse" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Bloglovin</a><span style="text-align: center;"> | </span><a href="http://twitter.com/aclotheshorse" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Twitter</a><span style="text-align: center;"> | </span><a href="http://www.facebook.com/aclotheshorse?v=wall" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Facebook</a><span style="text-align: center;"> | </span><a href="http://theclotheshorse.tumblr.com/" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Tumblr</a><span style="text-align: center;"></span></div><a href="http://www.pinterest.com/pin/create/extension/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.blogger.com%2Fblogger.g%3FblogID%3D4951540332544299382%23editor%2Ftarget%3Dpost%3BpostID%3D6684690447476677819%3BonPublishedMenu%3Dallposts%3BonClosedMenu%3Dallposts%3BpostNum%3D18%3Bsrc%3Dlink&media=https%3A%2F%2Fimages-blogger-opensocial.googleusercontent.com%2Fgadgets%2Fproxy%3Furl%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fi191.photobucket.com%252Falbums%252Fz301%252Ftheclotheshorse%252F1t%252Fcarve-15_zps8a545ec1.jpg%26container%3Dblogger%26gadget%3Da%26rewriteMime%3Dimage%252F*&xm=h&xv=sa1.35&description=" style="background-color: transparent; background-image: url(data:image/png; border: none; cursor: pointer; display: none; height: 20px; left: 26px; opacity: 0.85; position: absolute; top: 903px; width: 40px; z-index: 8675309;"></a><a href="http://www.pinterest.com/pin/create/extension/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.blogger.com%2Fblogger.g%3FblogID%3D4951540332544299382%23editor%2Ftarget%3Dpost%3BpostID%3D6684690447476677819%3BonPublishedMenu%3Dallposts%3BonClosedMenu%3Dallposts%3BpostNum%3D18%3Bsrc%3Dlink&media=https%3A%2F%2Fimages-blogger-opensocial.googleusercontent.com%2Fgadgets%2Fproxy%3Furl%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fi191.photobucket.com%252Falbums%252Fz301%252Ftheclotheshorse%252F1t%252Fcarve-15_zps8a545ec1.jpg%26container%3Dblogger%26gadget%3Da%26rewriteMime%3Dimage%252F*&xm=h&xv=sa1.35&description=" style="background-color: transparent; background-image: url(data:image/png; border: none; cursor: pointer; display: none; height: 20px; left: 26px; opacity: 0.85; position: absolute; top: 903px; width: 40px; z-index: 8675309;"></a></div>

Girl Scout

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/girlscout-23_zps31ac4a37.jpg" /><br />I rarely have a reason to wear a costume at Halloween these years--I'm far too old for trick-or-treating and most of my friends have fall themed parties without the costumes. But I do enjoy dressing up and when I saw this vintage girl scout dress hanging in an antique mall I couldn't resist. Most days I'll probably try to play down the girl scout look but since it is the season to "come as you aren't" I decided to play it up a bit. I could use a cute neck tie, but I do think my <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/200403277/crossbody-messenger-quality-leather-bag?ref=shop_home_active_23" target="_blank">new purse</a> looks appropriately on theme. I love the little embossed crossed keys and the handy size; it's made to carry your iPad or Nook, but also perfectly holds these binoculars and a map. Now, I need to go earn some merit badges!<br /><div></div><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/girlscout-34_zps744628c6.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/girlscout-42_zps72f35b81.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/girlscout-24_zpsf05dacb3.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/girlscout-28_zps4fdb122d.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/girlscout-26_zps5cdce9cf.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/girlscout-38_zpsb346e1ab.jpg" /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">"I will do my best </div><div style="text-align: center;">to be honest and fair, </div><div style="text-align: center;">friendly and helpful, </div><div style="text-align: center;">considerate and caring, </div><div style="text-align: center;">courageous and strong, and </div><div style="text-align: center;">responsible for what I say and do, </div><div style="text-align: center;">and to </div><div style="text-align: center;">respect myself and others, </div><div style="text-align: center;">respect authority, </div><div style="text-align: center;">use resources wisely, </div><div style="text-align: center;">make the world a better place, </div><div style="text-align: center;">and be a sister to every Girl Scout."</div><div style="text-align: left;"><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/girlscout-29_zpsec6878aa.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/girlscout-31_zpsfe61cf53.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/girlscout-35_zps5465efe0.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/girlscouts-1_zps4515ca03.jpg" /></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><div style="text-align: right;">Outfit details:</div><div style="text-align: right;">vintage bow</div><div style="text-align: right;">vintage Girl Scout dress</div><div style="text-align: right;"><a href="http://shop.tabbisocks.com/tights/opaque-zokki/opaque-color-tights-in-black/" target="_blank">Tabbisocks tights</a></div><div style="text-align: right;">Seychelles heels (old, <a href="http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?u=761928&b=417942&m=43745&afftrack=&urllink=www%2Emodcloth%2Ecom%2Fshop%2Fshoes%2Dheels%2Fbow%2Dn%2Dplaces%2Dheel%2Din%2Dwhite" target="_blank">similar</a>)</div><div style="text-align: right;"><a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/200403277/crossbody-messenger-quality-leather-bag?ref=shop_home_active_23" target="_blank">Two Tickets cross body purse</a><br />*pictures by Thomas</div></div><a href="https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=4951540332544299382" style="background-color: transparent; Michael Always Comes Home at Halloween

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/mm-13_zps80d5530b.jpg" /><br />Fair warning: slightly scary post if you scroll down! Halloween has never been my favorite holiday and if I never saw another scary movie I'd be fine, however as I've mentioned before Thomas has a lot of enthusiasm for this season and creepy movies and his enthusiasm is catching. So in honor of this spooky time we decided to create a little photoshoot inspired by the classic horror: <i>Halloween</i>. We visited the abandoned theme park I've <a href="http://theclothes.blogspot.com/2013/08/abandoned-by-reason.html" target="_blank">taken</a> <a href="http://theclothes.blogspot.com/2013/06/scenes-from-abandoned-theme-park.html" target="_blank">pictures</a> <a href="http://theclothes.blogspot.com/2012/05/beneath-stains-of-time.html" target="_blank">at a few times</a> before, found Thomas the perfect creepy costume, and enlisted my friend <a href="http://thedustdancestoo.com/" target="_blank">Jon</a> to snap the mayhem. Strangely enough we were not the only ones doing a horror-themed photoshoot at the abandoned theme park on this day--there was also a creepy clown wandering around with photographer in tow! All in all it was a pretty fun day and I think the photographs do a really good job of telling the story. I'm already wondering what scary movie we should pay homage to next year. Any suggestions?<br /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/mm-1-2_zps9fef1a5d.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/mm-2-2_zps67990ab6.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/mm-3_zps3a652532.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/mm-4_zps6d16b0dd.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/mm-5_zpsda93ee6f.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/mm-6_zps1c13c2ac.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/mm-8_zps27798fe0.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/mm-7_zps1829df38.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/mm-9_zps53c10268.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/mm-11_zps9d9fd068.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/mike-1-2_zps336a674d.jpg" /><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/mm-12_zpscd98667d.jpg" /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: right;">all photographs by</span><span style="text-align: right;"> </span><a href="http://thedustdancestoo.com/" style="text-align: right;" target="_blank">Jon</a></div><div style="text-align: center;">details:</div><div style="text-align: center;">Anthropologie jacket (old, <a href="http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?u=761928&b=393018&m=41271&afftrack=&urllink=www%2Echoies%2Ecom%2Fproduct%2Fblue%2Dleather%2Dlook%2Dbiker%2Djacket%2Dwith%2Ddouble%2Dzipper%5Fp30506" target="_blank">similar</a>)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.chicwish.com/lotus-trib-embroidered-little-black-dress.html" target="_blank">Chicwish dress</a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?u=761928&b=417942&m=43745&afftrack=&urllink=www%2Emodcloth%2Ecom%2Fshop%2Ftights%2Flayer%2Dit%2Don%2Dtights%2Din%2Dblack" target="_blank">Modcloth tights</a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.wolverine.com/US/en-US/Product.mvc.aspx/32167W/78623/Womens/Nellie-Shoe?dimensions=0" target="_blank">Samantha Pleet x Wolerine 1k shoes</a></div><img border="0" src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z301/theclotheshorse/1t/mm-14_zpsff073c30.jpg" /><br /><a href="http://www.pinterest.com/pin/create/extension/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.blogger.com%2Fblogger.g%3FblogID%3D4951540332544299382%23editor%2Ftarget%3Dpost%3BpostID%3D2536279121641640075%3BonPublishedMenu%3Dposts%3BonClosedMenu%3Dposts%3BpostNum%3D22%3Bsrc%3Dlink&media=https%3A%2F%2Fimages-blogger-opensocial.googleusercontent.com%2Fgadgets%2Fproxy%3Furl%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fi191.photobucket.com%252Falbums%252Fz301%252Ftheclotheshorse%252F1t%252Fmm-4_zps6d16b0dd.jpg%26container%3Dblogger%26gadget%3Da%26rewriteMime%3Dimage%252F*&xm=h&xv=sa1.35&description=" style="background-color: transparent; background-image: url(data:image/png; border: none; cursor: pointer; display: none; height: 20px; left: 26px; opacity: 0.85; position: absolute; top: 3200px; width: 40px; z-index: 8675309;"></a><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><br /><a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/15904/the-clothes-horse" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Bloglovin</a><span style="text-align: center;"> | </span><a href="http://twitter.com/aclotheshorse" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Twitter</a><span style="text-align: center;"> | </span><a href="http://www.facebook.com/aclotheshorse?v=wall" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Facebook</a><span style="text-align: center;"> | </span><a href="http://theclotheshorse.tumblr.com/" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">Tumblr</a><span style="text-align: center;"></span></div></div>
