Like it is with many film stars most of my inspiration from Anna Karina comes from her films rather than her personal style. There just aren't that many candids or even magazine editorials featuring this Danish beauty best known for her roles in French New Wave films of the 60s. Yet, the movie inspiration abounds often in a delightful wardrobe and special palette of red, white, and blue. My favorite Anna Karina film is A Woman Is A Woman--I'd happily exchange my wardrobe for her character Angela's although I doubt I'd look as good in the blue eye shadow and fur-trimmed dress. Still it's always 60s era stars like Karina that inspire me to re-cut bangs and wing my eyeliner on a daily basis.
